This promotional film contains images of Drummond Bros Ltd automatic Maxicut range in operation. Maxicut specialist lathes, machine tools and gear-shapers were introduced onto the market following the Second World War.

The film consists of a sequence of images of various Maxicut machines in operation at the Drummond Bros Guildford factory and an Austin Motor Company factory, each preceded by an explanatory intertitle. The machinery on display includes the 'Automatic No.0 Maxicut', the 'No.1 Maxicuts' which work on axle tubes and the 'No.2 Maxicuts' which operate on camshafts. The images and intertitles work to portray a range of machinery which is both efficient and and an effective labour-saving device.
