Description

"Dennis F.44. Powered by Rolls Royce B81 S.V. Petrol engine with Allison automatic transmission." The film opens with images of the new F.44 fire engine competing against the older F.36 model on the Silverstone racetrack. The F.44 displays better acceleration, braking and manoeuvring skills. The assembled fire chiefs are invited to test drive the vehicle and to watch as its disc pads are changed and as its pumps are utilised. The camera films from aboard the vehicle as it drives effortlessly through the streets of Godalming before moving onto uneven country tracks. [Sequence also on TID 1617]
