Summary

Film of a trip by H A Voss through the Swiss Alps, visiting Wengen, Jungfraujoch, Engleberg and Lake Lungern.

Description

A trip from the Alpine village of Wengen to Jungfraujoch, a plateau high in the mountains, via the Jungfrau Railway, takes in views of mountaintops. A scientific observatory perches on a rocky outcrop known as the Sphinx. Moving east to the town of Engelberg, on a Sunday, people file into church and a little girl is dressed for her First Communion ceremony. Men in traditional Alpine dress mill around in the picturesque town after the service ends. Voss then travels south to the Brünig Pass, and films views of villages on Lake Lungern.
