A collection of films of "Cathkin", the Voss family home, featuring scenes of the children playing in the garden in summer and winter, and tennis matches with friends. A school sports day and wedding are also included.
The first film of the compilation opens with scenes of the children riding their bicycles in the garden. The family go for a drive, and the children and their mother are filmed playing in the garden. Friends visit, and the children are next seen playing cricket with tennis rackets as a group of women in deckchairs look on from the patio. The men join the children in the game.
"Home Shots, 1938", as the title introduces it, opens with another view of the house. Mrs Voss puts deckchairs out on the patio. The gardens are filmed as Mrs Voss and her children walk around it. The children play with their pet dog and chickens from a coop. A tennis match in the court in front of the house is followed by scenes of the children playing with rabbits. A boy chases a chicken before a title announces "Snow Sports at Christmas 1938". The family sledge downhill in thick snow. The garden is filmed covered in snow, as a boy goes out to feed doves on a bird table.
The next footage is of June 1950's sports day at St. Peter's school, Coulsdon. Teenage girls take part in a number of events, including sack race and long jump.
The next title introduces a "Tennis party at Cathkin - August 1951". Views of the house and garden is followed by footage of tennis matches in the grounds.
The final film of the compilation is of a wedding and reception in December 1953 in St. Margaret's Church, Chipstead. The guests pose for the camera outside the church before entering with the groom's party. The bride and groom come out onto the church steps after the service and pose for photographs. The wedding party leave, and guests filter out of the church, before a shot of the marquee where the reception is held. The film closes on a shot of the bride and groom leaving in their wedding car.
