An amateur film recording the local community attending the St Lawrence Fair in Hurstpierpoint.


Opening title: '1974 Pat & David Chivers present 'St Lawrence Fair'.

The film opens with a banner tethered above the high street that reads "St Lawrence Fair July 6th". A series of decorated floats follow, forming the parade as it passes through Hurstpierpoint to the recreation ground. The fete activities include a Naval cadet band, a paddling pool tipping game, a novelty race and features various floats and children in fancy dress. The film ends with an acrobat wearing stilts doing a comedy routine and stunt bikers the 'White Tornadoes' performing a variety of tricks.
