An amateur film of family trips around the UK including visits to the Bluebell Railway and Sheffield Park Gardens, Whipsnade Zoo, Chartwell House and Gardens, St. Lawrence Fair Hurstpierpoint, and a trip to Cornwall.

The Chivers family tour various locations in Sussex and beyond in 1968. Beginning with scenes on the family swing we then see a procession of scouts and guides filing into St Michael's and All Angels church for a religious ceremony.

Next it's play-time fun in the family garden with a group of young children splashing about in the paddling pool and playing with a hosepipe.

A visit to the Bluebell Railway follows with a stop at a couple of stations to view the signs and platform decor, later they make visit to the adjacent Sheffield Park Gardens, where the Rhododendrons are in full bloom and a film crew and actors film a scene on the lake.

Pat & David’s daughter is later seen practising riding her bicycle in an open courtyard next to several garages before the family go on a day-trip to Whipsnade Park Zoo. The camera captures wide views of the Rhino, Flamingo, Camel, Llama, Giraffe an Polar Bear as they tour the open park. Brief views follow of the exterior of Chartwell House and Gardens.

The family visit Herstpierpoint for the St Lawrence Fair – with processions in fancy dress and period-clothing. Decorated floats glide along the streets and onto the recreation ground where the winner is awarded a cup by the Rector.

After an amusing finale with duelling Mini's, the Chivers family are off to Cornwall visiting the rural countryside and the National Trust's Cotehele House.

On their return, their daughter practises with a hula-hoop in their front garden while Mr Chivers chats with a neighbour. There follows a visit to a very windy Brighton beach with views of Palace Pier, before we end with another visit to the gardens at Sheffield Park in Autumn.
