Miniature Movies presents 'Through Our Lens
intertitle: An afternoon at the Rookery'. A small family group walk through a walled floral garden, the women wearing fur and fox. The small girl plays and is reluctant to be filmed while the adults sit and smoke. They stop to look at a sundial.
Intertitle: Mischief at the party. This second film opens with people drinking beer, smoking and kissing at Christmas time. Caption: 'May we see some films?' A man nods and sets up a 16mm projector as two children wait excitedly. He turns the light off and rolls a black and white Charlie Chaplin film. The family watch animatedly. The children creep into the kitchen, the older girl takes the pepper pot and they retreat to another room only to rifle through handbags to sprinkle pepper into a face compact and handkerchiefs. The young boy watches gleefully on. She then empties a large beer bottle into the sink and replaces the contents with vinegar. The elders finish watching the film, pour new drinks and fetch their purses and handkerchiefs. Lots of sneezing and pulling faces ensues, Title 'Let's try another bottle' which they do and all is well with a new title 'Ah...that's better. The guests leave and the title flags up 'goodbye' and the little girl smiles as she gets ready to leave.
