A large group of well-dressed men and women board a steamer at a Port of London Authority pier (Richmond?). Tickets are checked and they make their way along the River Thames, passing other boats and canoes and navigate a lock. Arriving at Hampton Court pier the passengers disembark, smiling and jostling. Tea and cake is served on long tables in a marquee. A sign reads 'The maze admission one penny'. The group enter laughing and then gather by the large fountain in the grounds. Some take it in turns to play act in the gardens round the statues, one woman parodying an Isadora Duncan style dance by a plinth. We see the exterior of Hampton Court Palace before the group rush to board the steamer for the return journey home.
