The film opens with the title "Godalming Carnival Week, June 14th to 21st 1924, taken for Mr Fudger, cameraman - L. Jefcoate". The 'Carnival Week' was held as a fundraising event for the Royal Surrey County Hospital and included a week long "programme of revelry". Mr W G Fudger was co-owner of the first cinema in Godalming and this film would have been commissioned by him to be screened at his own cinema. The film covers the main procession in Godalming Carnival Week on the 21st of June. The procession around Godalming includes a marching band, people in fancy dress costumes, scouts, firemen, the carnival queen and decorated vehicles used as floats.
