Boys from Fegans Childrens Homes work at the school's Goudhurst Farm on a variety of tasks involving livestock, harvesting and fruit picking and processing.

The boys lead cattle to a milking shed, feed the sheep and lambs, direct pigs into the yard and begin ploughing the fields with horses sowing seeds along furrows and tilling by hop plants.

The boys parade in the yard before being assigned jobs.

Intertitle: 'In a hayfield an elevator in use'. Boys busily stack the hay.

Intertitle: 'Throughout the season the fruit packing shed presents busy scenes'. Interior scenes of the packing plant and boys at work follow as they load the fruit baskets onto a truck.

Intertilte: 'A load off to Covent Garden Market, London'.

As the truck departs it passes the sign 'Mr Fegans Homes Incorporated Training Farms, Horden, Goudhurst'.
