This professionally edited film, which includes some sound and some silent footage, shows various aspects of the twin boy’s activities and achievements as well as their 18th birthday celebration. The film starts with still photographs of the twins as babies, as toddlers and as young boys. The film then includes scenes of one of the boys taking part in an RAF cadet drill, and in a football match. Further still photographs of the boys are interspersed with certificates of their achievements including in cycling proficiency, gymnastics, judo, football, city and guilds and pitman qualifications, CSE examinations, and school prize certificates. The film then includes an interview with the boys, by the film-maker, where one tells of his work as an apprentice HGV mechanic and the other of his entry into the Royal Air Force to work on aircraft electrical engineering. Whilst being interviewed the boys work together on a car engine. The boys talk about how they might miss each other and the rest of the family once one of the twins leaves home for the Air Force.
At the Coniston Hotel, Sittingbourne, the family are filmed eating a meal, and with a Champagne toast, the father gives a speech and presents the boys with the keys to the house and an album each of photographs. The film ends with further photographs of the boys posing with the various certificates they have achieved.
This film complements another film from this collection commemorating their older sister’s 18th birthday, the previous year - The House of Jan and Pete: A Birthday (1984)
