This black and white portrait of a young family shows, in some detail, games being played by young children in a garden. Scenes from a trip to a boating lake are also featured intermittently.

Opening in a garden setting, young children are seen playing with various toys - a xylophone, a doll, a toy baby carriage and a toy truck - while their mother watches from a bench. This cuts to shots of a man fishing, netting his catch and showing it to the camera. Cutting back again to the garden setting, grandmother is visiting. The children show her their toys and play with her, playing ring-a-ring-a-roses and other singing and movement games. Shots of a man fishing and a couple in a punt-style boat follow. Once again in the garden, the children pose for a portrait with their grandmother and play with a scooter and a toy truck. Next the children are shown waving good-bye to grandmother as she drives away. The film then cuts back to views of the boating lake, where the two older boys are seen getting into boats with their parents. Scenes of the family in the boat are mixed with views of the lake taken from the boat, before the sequence closes with shots of the family disembarking. The final sequences return to the garden, where the father and son play leap-frog and the boys ride in a peddle car.
