Description

Beginning in Brighton, the children's grandparents (?) walk on the promenade and along Palace Pier. The film then moves to Margate where the funfair and roller coaster is filmed and the Art Deco Coach Station. On the seafront at Margate the beach is full but another day shows windy weather and a red flag warning swimmers. The Mitchells are then seen on a warmer day sitting by a beach hut on the sands at Broadstairs. The grandfather builds sandcastles and the father digs a hole in the sand. Back in Bromley the children work on a patch of neglected land. At Biggin Hill aerodrome there are brief scenes of the aftermath of a tragic accident followed by the airshow itself which features several aircraft from World War II. In central London there are Silver Jubilee decorations, and pigeon feeding at Trafalgar Square and Horse Guards. Back in Bromley again a Silver Jubilee event is held at the Cash and Carry shop, where electrical goods are on sale, including a waffle maker. The children are seen again on the formerly neglected patch of land, cutting the grass.
