Description
This small collection of amateur material was filmed by Joan Irons (nee Osterloh) from the late 1950s to the late 1960s. Various members of the family would take charge of the camera at times, allowing Joan to occasionally appear in front of the lens. The collection shows Joan and family at home in Dymchurch and on various outings including a holiday in Wales and a trip to Belgium for the Expo '58. There is a family connection to the Kent County Constabulary, with informal scenes of policewomen shown in two of the films, and the collection includes film of a Police parade attended by Princess Alexandra in 1957.
