Summary
The collection of films from Woking Cine Club - an amateur film-making group established in 1959. The group devised and produced a number of non-fiction and fiction films from the 1960s to the 1990s.

Description
Woking Cine Club, established in 1959, which became Woking Film Makers in 1984, was set up to encourage film production as a hobby and further the knowledge and skill of its members. Besides documentary films and instructional films, the group produced fiction films, often with darkly comic themes. The Surrey History Centre holds the records of the club and Screen Archive South East holds copies of many of its productions.

The goods are recovered, earning an old man a handsome reward, while the thief gets away with his crime. From a domestic kitchen to the local sewage treatment works and back again; the story of water treatment produced by John Boice and the Woking Film Makers. The voiceover explains the technical process of removing the solid waste and large debris from waste water, as it passes through the water plant. Scenes also show the main pumping station machinery, the sedimentation tanks, aerators and quality testing process before the water is returned to the river.

The Making of Woking

A history of Woking, charting the arrival of the London to Southampton Railway and the Necropolis Company, where the London dead were to be laid to rest. The film was produced by Woking Film Makers in collaboration with Mayford & Woking District History Society in 1986 and received a Bronze Seal award at the International Film and Video Competition at London International Film Festival in 1987.
