The Emberton film collection, held by Screen Archive South East, offers a detailed portrait of the family life of the prominent modernist British architect Joseph Emberton. The large collection of engaging and beautifully shot films strongly feature his two daughters Jocelyn and Gillian as they grew up in their affluent Surrey home. The significance of the collection led the archive to conduct a series of oral history interview recordings with the sisters in 2010 and in 2013. In the interviews, the sisters reflected on their memories of family life; their home; their father's work and travels; and the experience of being filmed. Various clips on these themes were then taken from the full recording and edited together with the original Emberton family films made in the 1930s and 1950s. The large collection of Emberton family films can be found in the Screen Archive South East collection: CID: 43.
