Images include various street scenes, sports events, tanks at the British Military Training Centre at Quetta, and the regiment's return trip to England via the Suez Canal. The film-maker went on to become a founding member of the Haywards Heath Cine Society.

The holidaymakers tour the coastline and villages of the Westcounty, stopping at Stonehenge on their way home to the South East. They visit the east coast of Scotland in the following year, stopping at Dundee and St Andrews before travelling into the Highlands. The film-maker went on to become a founding member of the Haywards Heath Cine Society.

Travels across Spain feature in this film, recorded on two separate trips. On the first, Mr Voss drives from Barcelona to Madrid, stopping in Bilbao. On the second, almost five years later, Voss travels from Madrid to Burgos, stopping at Aranda de Duero, Estella and Pamplona. He returns to Madrid via the Guadarrama mountains, and visits Roman monuments at Mérida.

A shot of Geneva from across the lake opens the film, followed by footage of the Swiss Alpine resort of Château d'Oex in January 1949. Voss films his children Tony and Christine skiing and ice-skating on a frozen lake where an ice hockey game later takes place. Landscape scenes are followed by footage of "dance club" practice at Purley Ice Rink, filmed that May.

Three trips to Japan are recorded in this film,as well as travels in Hong Kong and Egypt. It features footage of many different parts of Japan, including Sagami Bay and Enoshima Island, Tokyo, the temples and shrines of Kyoto, Kamakura and Nara, and the hot spring resorts of Miyanoshita, Atami and Jozankei. The footage of Hong Kong features Kowloon and the surrounding rural areas and in Egypt a trip to Cairo and the pyramids is filmed.

A trip to Hawaii begins at Waikiki Beach, including film of surfers performing elaborate tricks for the camera, and the nearby city of Honolulu, on the island of Oahu. Voss then travels to the island of Hawaii where he visits a volcano and a tree fern rainforest in the Hawaii National Park. Some professionally made film scenes are intercut with Voss's own film.
[French Riviera Trip; Christmas at Home]
Two films of the Embertons, firstly on holiday in the French Riviera, and then at home celebrating Christmas. They travel to Nice, stay with friends in Menton and take in the town sights and sea front. At home, their daughters Jocelyn and Gillian are filmed decorating the Christmas tree and dressing in evening gowns, posing for the camera.
[Pontresina Winter Holiday]
On a trip to the Swiss Alps, Voss visits Pontresina, St. Moritz and Celerina, travelling through the Bernina mountains, through the Morteratsch and Poschiavo valleys, toward the Maloja Pass. Whilst in the area, he films an ice skating display at the Kulm Hotel, St. Moritz, and tobogganists on the notorious 'Cresta Run'.

A coach trip into the mountains in Swizerland. As a horse and cart pass by, a view of the landscape reveals a village below and a mountain range wrapped in snow and mist. On a trip into the village, local women are dressed for working the land. The film features more footage of the landscape, before ending with shots of a group of friends.
[Holiday in Catalonia and beach scenes]
A group of holidaymakers visit Spain and film a bull run. At a beach, a group of men go skinny dipping and play on the beach in the nude. A woman leaves hospital with her new born baby. Returning to Barcelona and Catalonia there are extended scenes of a bull fight and scenes filmed on holiday around Spain.
Mr and Mrs Gowlland and family record their holiday, touring around The Netherlands in their car, visiting friends and seeing the main towns and tourist sights, revisiting some of the places encountered on their trip in 1949.
