A compilation of films of local interest which which were exhibited in a newsreel format at the Capitol Cinema in Walton-on-Thames by its manager Clifford Spain. The films record community events including parades, local election results and sports meetings. The camera pays special attention to the locals who visit the events.
[Rottingdean Windmill Reconstruction]
This intertitled amateur newsreel style film by FJ Williams, documents a series of local events in the seaside town of Rottingdean. The film shows stormy weather and a beached whale, the opening of the new Public Hall by the Mayor and Mayoress and the restoration of Rottingdean Windmill by several tradesman.
Death Let Loose
A fiction film about a scientist kidnapped by a group of Russian mobsters. A secret formula is stolen and espionage is suspected. A policeman is knocked out and later found dead on a beach. The scientist is forced to hand over the formula to the Russian mob, but a raid leads to the mob being caught in the act. This film is heavily damaged in the first part of the film.

A Peep in the Future
This short animated film from 1946 was produced by Sidney Little, the Town Planning and Development Officer for Hastings Borough Council. The film demonstrates Little's scheme for redevelopment of Hastings Town Centre, using a specially constructed model of the street scene, together with vehicles and pedestrians.

An amateur fiction film in which a pair of ghosts search for new lodgings when their home is demolished for new housing. The film uses superimposition and other editing devices to depict the paranormal goings-on.

This film shows a family trip to visit relatives in Nigeria. They visit the Northern regions of Kano and Kaduna, touring several markets and rural villages. The film includes the Emir of Kano and Sardauna of Sokoto inspecting a parade of Native Authority Policemen, the gate of the Gidan Rumfa and the House of Assembly in Kaduna.

Farnham Walkabout or Farnham Layabouts
A humorous dramatised tour of the sights and hotspots of Farnham in Surrey. The film enacts comedy scenes at Farnham's castle, St. Andrew's church, the town centre and river bank, the bowling green, and the Marlborough Head pub. A muffled comedy commentary accompanies the film.
A lengthy amateur film which records events in Shoreham-by-Sea during 1962. The film, which was made by the founder of the Shoreham Cine and Miniature Camera Club, has an accompanying soundtrack comprising commentary, music and sound effects. It also contains newspaper headlines from the Shoreham Herald, and a sequence showing the work of the local paper.
