Winter Sport; [Christmas]
This film shows a family group playing in the snow and celebrating Christmas at home, with a traditional family meal and shots of the decorated living room adorned with Christmas cards, decorations and a tree. The second part of the film shows a Boxing Day (?) fox hunt. The Huntsmaster and hounds are gathered on a rural street. The film follows the hunt along part of the route.
The Crawley and Horsham Fox Hounds
Crawley & Horsham hunt meets at Knepp Castle, and "point to point" racing with hunt horses, filmed by Dora Harmer in around 1966.
This short amateur film was made by a member of the Brighton and Hove Cine Club. The opening of the film shows Hove Town Hall after it was destroyed by fire; the middle shows scenes from Horsham, including The Causeway and Carfax; the end features a hunt meeting at the Fox public house at Patching.

This documentary by the RSPB focusses on the partridge and its survival. The birds are filmed in their natural habitat on the South Downs. The film is accompanied by a commentary which highlights findings from the Partridge Survival Project which examined threats to the partridge, its distribution and breeding habits.

Surrey Union Hunt at Civic Hall

Members of the Surrey Union Hunt assemble outside Guildford Civic Hall with the Lady Mayoress. After riding through the streets of Guildford, the hunting party set off over nearby fields, the riders jumping hedges as they move at speed.
