[EXPO at Sussex]

An amateur film capturing some of the 1968 Sussex Expo at the Ardingly Show. The film, which includes intertitles, shows a range of vehicles being exhibited, a military exercise, a parade by Sussex Police as well as hot air balloons and parachutists in the sky above the showground.
An exhibition of wax work effigies that comes to life when a thief attempts to steal a diamond from a costume, in this colour film produced by the North Downs Cinematography Society in the late 1960s.
[Good Shepherd Flower Festival]

A flower festival held at The Church of the Good Shepherd, Mile Oak is captured in this amateur film by a member of the Brighton & Hove Cine Club. Flower arrangements are seen on display inside the church building; a poster outside advertises the festival. The film closes with shots of flowering plants in the church garden.
The Herne Bay Newsreel 1969 
One of a series of newsreels featuring events in the town of Herne Bay in 1969 and 1970. The film includes coastal protection works, the Hospital Fete, the Archbishop of Canterbury at a Reculver ceremony, then in 1970 sailing, the Carnival, the destruction of the pier pavilion, a Fete, Road development, an exhibition and market, tennis, and shops.
[Michelham Priory Exhibition and Brighton Seafront]
Two films made by George Horrobin in the 1970s. The first contains scenes from a craft exhibition held at Michelham Priory, and the second shows the Palace Pier at Brighton and a regatta taking place on the beach between the two piers.
This amateur film records events at the annual fair in the East Sussex village of Ditchling. It has an soundtrack comprising of commentary and specifically composed folk songs which narrate the story of the images.

Amateur colour footage of a meeting of the Life For Work Trust at Crutchfield Manor where young adult men give testimonies about finding Christianity, and where the guests and members are entertained with live music.
Thus compilation of amateur material contains footage of a pram race, Leonardslee Gardens, Compton Acres, Bognor Regis seafront, a wildlife park, the Chelsea Flower Show, and a carnival parade.
Billingshurst Horse Show
An amateur film recording the annual Billingshurst and West Grinstead horse shows. Heavy horses are paraded around a field and take part in a ploughing match. Other machinery is on display including a vintage fire engine, binding machine and a steam traction engine.
The Hot Air Show
This film records a visit to the Shuttleworth Collection (Historic Aeroplanes and Vehicles) and includes scenes of traffic queuing to enter the exhibition, shots of First World War aircraft in a hangar, and of a flying display of small aircraft, watched by crowds of onlookers. The film includes a brief shot of a hot air balloon in the shape of a Robertson's 'Golly' image.

This film records 'Eastbourne College of Education, Art Department, Third Year Students, Certificate of Education Exhibition 1976'. It includes scenes of a student and her family viewing an exhibition of art and textiles, before having tea together. Cuckfield Silver Jubilee
An upbeat and lively amateur film documenting the Queen's Jubilee celebrations at Cuckfield and preparations leading up to them. Local residents are seen making the decorations for the town and exhibitions and demonstrations are arranged. Shots of locals taking part in the pageant and other celebrations. The film concludes with a toast to the Queen and the national anthem.
Ardingly Historic Vehicles Spectacular
This colour film shows the Ardingly Historic Transport Spectacular show in 1981 at Ardingly showground. Highlights include mixed views of the main arena with steam traction engines on show; views of several fairground rides and amusement stalls; and a working model fairground made from Meccano. Additional mixed views of smaller standing or stationary engines and a convoy of miniature traction engines complete the film.
A holiday to Florida in 1987, taken by the Gillings family in 1987. They visit Sea World, Disneyland, the Epcot Centre, National Pavilions, Gaitorland and Cypress Gardens. Footage is taken by both Michael Gillings and his son, Neville.
