Malta Receives Its George Cross

An amateur film documenting a trio of Scouting events at Sutton Park in Birmingham - The World Scout Jubilee Jamboree, A World Rover Moot and A World Scouters Indaba. The events share the same site, split into three sections and opened by HRH Henry Duke of Gloucester and visited by HM The Queen, Elizabeth II and HRH Prince Philip.
This amateur colour documentary film made to celebrate the Centenary year of the Mid Sussex Times in 1970, shows the history and production processes of the 'Middi' newspaper from receipt of advertisements to distribution of printed copies. Full production processes are shown, along with views of the presses and printers used in the production. The film has a voice over narrative throughout, with opening and closing titles.
[Jubilee Fete Singleton 1977]
Jubilee celebrations in Singleton, West Sussex, including sporting activities and games. There is a baking contest (the contestants wear Union flag aprons), a sack race, donkey rides, a wheelbarrow race, tug of war, and prizes. The film ends with the announcement that 'now it's coffee time'.

The next sequence shows scenes from the Queen's Birthday celebration (Jubilee year) of Trooping the Colour at Horse Guards Parade. [not included in online clip] Scenes of crowds gathered outside Buckingham Palace to watch the RAF flypast and the Royal family on the balcony following the event.

A titled compilation of travelogue films touring the seaside resorts of Paignton, Torbay and Torquay in Devon as a memorial tribute to a family pet Border Collie dog named Jess. The film also includes views of a foot road race, a man on top of a metal container that is being moved by a crane, beach and harbour scenes, visits to several rural village churches and several train journeys.
