This mixed colour and black and white film shows the family together at their home in Cross in Hand, including several scenes in Dufaycolor. The film includes the children playing in the garden with various toys, scenes of pets, a picnic, a flying boat, and scenes from several holidays and outings to Bodiam castle and the West Country that includes Stonehenge, St Michael's Mount, Tintagel and Clovelly village, Devon.

A travelogue which explores the East and West Sussex countryside, following the path of the River Rother, visiting Brighton and Goodwood Racecourse.
[Family Events of 1948]
The Gowlland family at home in Croydon and on outings during 1948. The film begins with heavy snow at their home. In spring the children play with a toy 'steam wagon'. In summer, they visit Sussex, going to the beach at Fairlight Cove, as well as Eastbourne, Gatehouse Farm, and Rye. Further scenes include a trip to London, the children getting a puppy 'Timmy', the London to Brighton Veteran car run and a visit to the grandparents.

Film of the Gowlland family on various outings in the Summer of 1955. The film shows the family on walks at Fairlight cove; and in the garden in August, playing badminton and cards. The family members indulge in various pass-times on a visit to the beach at Middleton near Bognor Regis, and stay at a holiday cottage there. They also visit Bodiam Castle, Rye, Chichester and go to the races at Kempton Park in October.

The children, who have range of physical disabilities are seen at a carnival in London to mark the 50th birthday of Queen Elizabeth II, at various sports days, and on class outings to Alfriston, Eastbourne and Bodiam Castle.
