Welcome to West Sussex Unwrapped – the ten-part series that takes you deep into the collections of Screen Archive South East and the West Sussex Record Office
This week we’re going back seventy years to accompany a Sunday School group from Three Bridges on a jolly day-trip to Littlehampton. Under a glorious Sussex sun the kids cavort on the sands in their woollen swimsuits, enjoy ice-creams with soggy wafers and play beach cricket while the grown-ups look on from their deckchairs. Then it’s time to join other children and thrill to the mayhem and hilarity of a Punch & Judy Show.
