Crawley captured on film

Crawley from the 1920s through to the 1980s. Lots to see!

Project organised and led by the Independent Cinema Office and funded by Film Hub South East and Heritage Lottery Fund East of England.

The project involves outdoor screenings and indoor community screenings with established community groups and centres.  The focus is on gathering memories from the community and recording these on film with the aim of producing a nationwide touring programme to share and tell the story of the development of New Towns in the South East and East of England.

Around one third of the archive films supplied for the Crawley part of the project were digitised with funding received from the British Film Institute as part of their Unlocking Film Heritage scheme.
