Summary

This edited colour family film shows an extended family on holiday at a camp site in the New Forest; on a beach holiday in Folkestone and together at home in the Laleham garden.

Description

The film opens with a family scene of the group on a camping holiday in a field in the New Forest, where the group are chopping branches and logs for firewood. The site is filled with brightly coloured tents and piles of firewood and tree branches.

The next sequence shows the family playing together in the garden of the Laleham home in a paddling pool dressed in beachwear. The film cuts to a shot of a man climbing a Silver Birch tree in order to cut the top off the tree, as a second man assists him by lowering the cut branch to the ground.

The final sequence shows the family on a beach holiday, sitting together on the shoreline in the waves and visiting a quayside to look at the boats moored on the water. A small fishing vessel brings in a haul of shellfish in large buckets. (This scene continues on a second reel: TID: 9405)
