This mixed colour and black and white film shows the family eating a meal, playing in the garden and on a day out riding horses in the countryside (Barnet?), stopping at a public house for refreshments.
This mixed colour and black and white film shows the family eating a meal, playing in the garden and on a day out riding horses in the countryside (Barnet?). The first section opens with black and white footage of the Hinchliff family sitting around a table eating a meal. The adults are passing plates of food and cups of tea, whilst the children struggle with knives and forks.
In black and white a young boy is playing on tall wooden stilts in a garden.
This colour film shows the garden flowers and plants in full bloom, with tomato plants hanging heavy with ripening fruit. Several children play in the garden dressed in swimwear, whilst another adult and a boy play on wooden stilts in the garden. The man and boy attempt to cross walk, dance and shake hands on the stilts.
The next black and white film shows edited shots of the family riding horses on route to a public house for refreshments. They mount their horses at the stables and at ride along the route. Dogs follow behind them, with cars and people on bicycles passing them by as they take to a road. A sign reads: ‘IDRIS Table Waters’ on route to the public house. On arrival at the public house (Middlesex Arms?) a waiter comes out to serve them drinks at a table on the village green. The group drink and smoke.
