A film showing Brighton Pavilion, Pavilion Gardens and the seafront taken on two sunny July days in 1994 by amateur film-maker B. C. Suter.
Visitors to Pavilion Gardens sit in deck chairs or on picnic blankets on the grass as the camera pans around, before cutting to views of Brighton Dome. Others stand in line outside Brighton Pavilion waiting to enter. The entrance to the gardens is seen from North Street, where people walk past cafes and shops.
The next sequence shows several panoramas that includes Palace Pier, Brighton seafront and beach looking east and then west. There are shots of the Royal Albion Hotel, Grand Hotel and Brighton Centre. Several children play football on the grassed area below the steps between the promenade and the seafront. Families play in the shallow water of a large paddling pool beside the old entrance to the West Pier. There are several views of the West Pier in a state of disrepair, cut off from the promenade. Several people are sunbathing on the shingle, under the disused structure on the beach.
