Summary

Film of people in the Bradford Dyers Association (BDA) office in Shanghai, and socialising in a courtyard.

Description

This film opens with an interior view of the main office of the Bradford Dyers Association in Shanghai. A man stands reading from a ledger on a lectern, whilst another sits at his desk writing (shots are very dark).

In the next scene a man dressed in a traditional Chinese two-piece suit collects a stack of BDA tins and a ledger from the office, and stands outside the office building whilst the camera takes a full length shot.

The next scene is in an ornate courtyard where Mrs Simpson and another man behave in a playful and mischievous way with a statue, climbing up it to make it look like it is smoking a cigarette (shots are dark).

The final shot returns to the interior of the BDA office (very dark) where Mrs Simpson sits talking to a man, both sat at a table (?).
