This short film shows members of the Chichester Motorcycle Club (on motorcylces and in cars) driving along several rural country roads, through a village and a river, during a time trial, as filmed by Ernest Shippam in 1931.
The compilation includes scenes showing a motorcycle being ridden along an unmade country road. There are portrait shots of a group of men standing together on a bridge smoking and talking to each other. A motorcycle drives past them. A series individual portraits shots show a man sitting on the bridge wall completes.
The next scene shows a motorcycle slowly being driven into the river next to the bridge, followed by views of a car and a cyclist passing over the bridge. Another car (PX 9089) is seen driving through the river. The car is forced to stops by the side of the road, where a man removes river detritus (plants and grass) out from underneath the car, handing it to another club member, who holds it up to show the group on the bridge.
