Footage from land and air, taken on trips to the sea and Redhill Aerodrome and at school events by a member of the North Downs Cinematograph Society in the mid 1930s.
Grasses, flowers and wildlife along a rocky shoreline is shown in close-up. A man in waders fishes in a river from the bank. A sunset is seen through trees. The camera pans across an airfield [Redhill Aerodrome], taking in lightweight planes and biplanes positioned in rows. Young men and women sit on a garden wall together, smoking and talking together.
The rest of the film is shot in black and white. Footage from the air follows, taking in the fields and forest areas below, but also the clouds over which the plane skims. A netball match is in play, between two teams of girls in dark pinafores and white shirts.
Children in fancy dress are filmed straight on by the camera. An audience waits, seated in a garden and holding umbrellas to shield themselves from the summer sun. The play begins. Games and amusements follow.
