Summary

A quirky animation featuring cut-out characters on a eccentric bicycle ride through Sussex towards a final destination in the Brighton Dome.

Description

In this bizarre animation from 1961, a cartoon cut out character named George cycles through the lanes of Sussex on his way to Brighton. George travels via Waddon, Redhill, ('creepy') Crawley, Bolney and Clayton railway tunnel. Enroute, he gets a double puncture, has lots of drinks thanks to the Guinness toucan, snoozes in Preston Park and arrives in Brighton hoping to get into The Dome. Once inside George causes mayhem on stage, meets a CND campaigner and gets the freedom of the town and a stick of Brighton rock from the Mayor.
