Organised by the Lions Club the 1962 Carnival in Bognor Regis attracted many famous faces, including Tony Hancock, who crowns the Carnival Queen, John Le Mesurier, Mario Fabrizi, Jon Pertwee, Ferdy Mayne and more. Other carnival events in the town include a sandcastle building competition, a helicopter rescue, a football match, an archery competition, beach races, a motorcycle display team, morris dancing, a parade of floats, pipe bands, and a funfair with fireworks.
