A home movie showing family scenes as well as operations at Lydd and Gatwick Airport. There is also footage of boating, yachting and canoeing on the south coast.
The film opens with a Bentley meeting at Firle. An old racing car race is taking place. There is close-up footage of a bee on a flower. Canoeing takes place in the sea at Brighton. Christmas dinner and the carving of the turkey is filmed.
Waves crash onto a beach. Rod reads a newspaper before the family sit down to play cards. We see the operations at Lydd airport. The “British United” air freighter loads and unloads just two or three cars each flight, illustrating the very limited capacity of these aeroplanes. Passengers exit the plane. Cars drive backwards off of the plane down a small ramp.
At Gatwick airport, planes take off and land. Yachting is taking place at Itchenor. Small dinghies, motor boats and sailing boats are all out on the water. There is a speedboat race at Southsea. The "Hovertravel" hovercraft comes into shore. Passengers exit the craft before the next group board. We see the hovercraft leave the shore. In the Solent there is a Naval ship.
