"1946 London, Kensington"
The camera pans up a church spire. This is followed by views of monumental buildings and statues. In a park, people are seen feeding the birds on a large pond. Ponies pull along rubbish carts. A young boy walks past carrying a large model sailboat. Title: "Kensington" - shots of a busy west London street including the front of High Street Kensington Tube Station. Title:"Brunswick Gardens and No. 29" showing the front of a terrace house taken from the street.
"June 1947 Dauntsey’s School. Speech Day"
The camera pans along the car park and school building. A group of children and a dog sit in a car.
"The Manor House"
There are views of the exterior of the manor house, the gardens and the countryside beyond. There is a long swimming pool with a fountain.
This is followed by a group of boys participating in a variety of physical activities outside such as gymnastics, boxing and fencing. Title: "On Salisbury Plain". There are close-ups of wild flowers. A young girl sits in the grass. Title: "Fan Court School. Fan Court School Father’s Cricket Match" followed byz footage of the match.
"August 1947. Isle of Wight. Bembridge"
A family and dogs play on a beach. Title: "Lifeboat Day. The Jesse Lund". Rowing boats go out to meet the lifeboat. There are views from the lifeboat of the shore and the other passengers. Title: "Off to the Fishing Grounds". A group of boys carry fishing rods and a rowing boat down to the shore. Title: "Children’s Regatta". A group of children play on the beach and climb into a rowing boat.
"July 1948. France. Le Castel Blanc”
There are shots of a white building through trees. Title: "Garden Party". A group of men and women sit outside on deck chairs and on the ground. Title: "The Journey Home. Calais". Calais Maritime is shown with a sleeping car train drawn up on the quayside. There is brief footage onboard from a British Railways Cross-Channel steamer ‘Invicta’ as she leaves Calais bound for Dover.
"August 1948. Bosham. Sussex. May Cottage"
Outside the cottage, a woman relaxes in a deck chair. People swim and go boating on a river. The film ends with shots of London and the house in Brunswick Gardens, London.
