A short amateur film compiled of newspaper clippings, television news and some original footage both in colour and black and white, of Russian Soviet Pilot and Cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin's visit to England shortly after his historic orbit of the earth in 1961 in his Vostok 1 spacecraft.
The film begins with a shot of Yuri Gagarin's photograph in the newspaper, followed by an interview with him, recorded from the television. We then see an exhibition at Earls Court on the USSR which features space vehicles amongst other aspects of Russian life which are portrayed there. More shots of newspaper clippings follow, including the headline 'London's just wild over Yuri' and then more original footage of Yuri Gagarin dressed in his military uniform, arriving at a press conference amongst massive crowds. There are some more shots of press clippings and finally a shot zooming in on the moon.
