Seeing London Series, No. 109. Crowds have gathered on Hampstead Heath to attend a fair. Balloon sellers stand amongst them. A young man attempts the strong man game, testing his strength by swinging a hammer onto the pivot. A large group of fair visitors look on. An R. Whites Soda drinks seller is seen, with a fairground roundabout in the foreground. Children climb into a swingboat ride.
'Working overtime on Bank Holiday', reads an intertitle. The swingboat rides are seen from a distance and looking up to the sky, where the boats swing in and out of shot. The camera pans up the Helter-Skelter from crowds of visitors and food sellers below. Women land on the mat at its base. Fortune sellers pose for the camera - 'Your fortune pretty Sir!' A woman stands for the camera, holding a bird cage. Men play a shooting game. A group stand together with a stills camera and tripod, photographing the event. A large swingboat rocks backwards and forwards. A Pearly King and Queen are shown, dressed in their finery. Their dog wears a coat decorated in pearl buttons, like those of its owners. Roundabouts include a switchback and horse carousel.
'And the effect!' Footage taken from the carousel as it spins round is shown, the crowd a blur of shapes. Visitors attempt the coconut shy and target amusement games.
'Behind the scenes' is shown. A family cook on an open stove with a frying pan and wash their sheets outside. Young children are seen, unwashed, with dirty clothes. A worker is seen, manning a traction engine. The film closes with a scene of visitors walking by a river. The End.
