An amateur film recording the annual Billingshurst and West Grinstead horse shows. Heavy horses are paraded around a field and take part in a ploughing match. Other machinery is on display including a vintage fire engine, binding machine and a steam traction engine.

A music soundtrack accompanies the film. Close-up of heavy horses on show. The crowd stands behind a barrier. Two decorated horses are harnessed together and pull a plough harness along the ground. Close-up of the same horses, one with a brass tag: "2nd Mid Sussex PA 1930". More shots of horses being paraded around the field. Sign on a cart: "Merrydown Vintage Cider". A narrative begins, explaining that the cider wagon is on display at the West Grinstead Horse Show. Two oxen are harnessed and pull the cart around a field. The narrator highlights a vintage fire engine and a self binder which is in operation. Shots of heavy horses pulling a plough with a ploughman holding the plough. Close-up of a milk churn; a steam traction engine pulls a trailer. Shot of an organ, sign: "Norman Hobbs Street Organ". Children ride on a carousel. The film ends with a shot of a small steam engine.
