Two reels (only reel one is online) of amateur film documenting life at the Southern Railway Servants' Orphanage in Woking. The film contains scenes of the older children giving gymnastic displays and a formal dance. The younger children receive toys from Father Christmas and eat Christmas dinners. The children perform a stage play, and boys have a pillow fight.
From the one online reel of two available, this compilation opens with gymnastic displays in the gymnasium with visitors watching. Next a formal dance is performed followed by further gymnastic and vaulting routines outside on a field. The next event is a Christmas meal with many games being played as a large group, at the close of day a brass band play with hymns being sung as the smaller children watch ready for bed in their dressing gowns. At the end of the first reel there is a short scene of a summer camp, children prepare their tents and children sit in rows on the grass in front of a trestle table set at the front with two large urns and bowls eating food from plates on their laps.
