Footage of harvest time and a trip to Scotland, featuring a stay at Gleneagles and a visit to the Forth Bridge, are followed by scenes of summer holidays in Felpham, West Sussex.
This film opens with farmers threshing a field. The grain is unloaded, and farm labourers are filmed at work in the barns. The following footage is of a weekend at Gleneagles hotel in Perthshire. A shot of the building's façade is followed by views of the area's scenery. The next shots are of a boat crossing the Firth, with the Forth Bridge in the background. A steam train is silhouetted crossing the bridge.
In the next part of the film, filmed in summer 1936, Voss is on holiday in Felpham in West Sussex. The children are seen playing and flying kites on the beach, where lots of families are gathered. The next scenes are of the family holiday there the following year. Voss films the new houses in the village and the house where the family are staying. The children play and pose for the camera in the garden. The family pass beach huts on the way down to the beach where people are riding horses. The children play in the sand. A year later, the family return again, and Voss films the family at the beach, this time in colour. Adults and children both swim in the sea, build sandcastles and fly kites. A squadron of planes flies overhead.
