This colour film opens with the family on a skiing holiday in Wengen, Switzerland and learning how to ski, with views of snow capped pistes, mountains, chalets and lodges (Chalet Alpengluhn and Belverdere). The film-maker captures wide views of other holiday makers undertaking winter sports including curling, ice skating, alpine skiing and tobogganing, accompanied by mixed views of everyday life and transport via horse drawn sleds, carts and toboggans. A person dressed in a polar bear costume encourages holiday makers to have their photograph taken with them, and is seen in the background on the resort at various points throughout the film.
The family ride on an alpine train up to the higher pistes, with wide views of Wengen from the train, and the valley below. At the top, there are further views of the alpine mountain range with trees covered in thick snow. The family ski and play in the snow. Competitors in an alpine ski race are shown skiing down the mountain wearing their race numbers. There is a brief view of the alpine train as it comes into shot on a bend. The film ends with the family back in the main ski resort at Wengen.
