Summary

Pupils from Astor Secondary School in Dover go on an educational holiday to Corsica, studying the landscape, the ocean, and the flora and fauna.

Description

The film opens with images of the schoolchildren looking at a poster advertising the school trip. They travel by bus through France, stopping off for a riverside picnic before continuing to the ferry port. Once on Corsica the pupils begin various projects, breaking into groups for recording data on sea temperature and salinity, and sealife. Their experiments take place both on the sandy beaches, and out to sea on pedalos - they collate their findings back at an outdoor classroom. They also enjoy excursions to old villages, a fireworks display, and an outdoor cafe. The film ends with their return journey through France.
