This collection from The Invicta Car Club Archive shows several historic moments: including Noel Macklin's [later Sir Noel Campbell Macklin] tenure at the Fairmile Garage in Cobham, that includes the Garage works itself; Violette (Violet) Cordery (Macklin's Sister-in-Law and Driver) undertaking various legs of the Motoring World Tour in 1927; and the Cordery attempt at the 30,000 Mile Trial at Brooklands with her sister Evelyn in 1929.
Other family films in the collection include: The Motor Cycling Club London to Lugano Run in 1927; watching an attempt at the 24 Heurs Le Mans race with Johnny Hindmarsh (Violette's husband); Charles Brackenbury in a Lagonda LG45; and the wedding of Mia Macklin (Noel's daughter and a GBR Professional Figure Skater) to Peter Rowland Dodge in 1940.

This film shows a compilation of scenes at the Fairmile Garage in Cobham, Surrey with several men working on an Invicta car [?], and using machinery. Scenes also show the interior of the Garage with several cars being assembled. Outside a car drives up to the camera [061 PC]. The final shot shows a further scene of car mechanics working on a vehicle.
[Violette Cordery Motoring World Tour]
This multi-reel film shows a series of stops on a World Tour by Miss Violette (Violet) Cordery, an English female motorist travelling in an Invicta car travelling 10.266 miles, by road and sea. The tour includes UK; France; North Africa; India, Australia; USA, and Canada. [Only Reel 1 is shown in the online clip].
The Motor Cycling Club London Lugano Run [UHA Production]
This film shows the Motor Cycling Club's London to Lugano run in August 1927 by Mr John Ahearn in his Invicta car [YE 7682] accompanied by his mechanic. The pair make an overnight stop in Ware, before travelling to Harwich to board a ship for Antwerp - the official race start point. Scenes also show the Rhine at Basel, "Luzern" town, Brünig Pass, the hairpin bends at St Gothard and several stops along the route. The journey concludes at Lugano, returning via Dieppe.
The Motor Cycling Club London Lugano Run [HCRF Production]
This two part intertitled film shows an edited "H.C. Reigate production" of the Motorcycling Club's London to Lugano run in August 1927 by Mr H.G Reigate in his Invicta car (YH 1305); accompanied by his mechanic Mr M. Weinstein. The pair travel to Harwich to board a ship to Antwerp - the official start point. Scenes show several of the other competitors cars being off loaded including "Allen's A.C", and [John] "Ahearn's Invicta (YE 7682)" (see TID: 10646 for Mr Ahearn's film).

This film shows Violette (Violet) Cordery relaxing before her time-trial attempt (with sister Evelyn). This is followed by film a bi-plane (Vickers Vilderbeast N230) at Brooklands. Scenes follow of the time trial, of the Invicta car.
[Le Mans Racing Track]

This film shows Violette (Violet) Cordery with family and friends at the Le Mans Racing Track for the 24 hour race. The film includes scenes of cars coming into the pit lane (No. 2 Bugatti; No. 3 Lagonda LG45 - Driven by GBR: Johnny Hindmarsh and Charles Brackenbury ?), and several cars leaving the pit lane to undertake laps of the track. A brief shot of the records score board shows the last 12 hours at the track.
[Mia Macklin's Wedding]

This film shows the wedding of figure skater and actress Mia Macklin to Peter Rowland Hodge. The groom is dressed in an Army officers dress uniform. Guests walk past the camera before entering the church. The bride and groom stand for portraits in a garden outside the church, followed by scenes of a garden reception and several portraits of friends and family. The bride takes photographs of the groom and poses for the film-maker in the garden.
